New Technologies of Welding and Diagnostics of Transport Power Systems

Abstract: Effective technologies and equipment for welding pipes under the shop conditions and in the construction of pipelines are described. Problems of assessment of performance of pipelines, their strength with zones of erosion-corrosion damages, effect of plastic deformation of fracture toughness of pipe steels, changes in properties of metal after the long-term service are considered. New generation of automated ultrasonic units for the quality control of welded pipes, systems of ultrasonic testing, not requiring the application of a contact liquid, and low-frequency systems of the ultrasonic testing in hard-to-reach places has been described. Capabilities of the acoustic emission method for diagnostics and monitoring of the technical condition of pipelines are shown. Magnetic coercimetric method and method of electron shearography are described. Technology of in-process repair of pipelines and connection of branch pipes to them under the pressure using arc welding and underwater welding are presented. An attention is paid to the problems of reducing the heat losses at the gas pumping stations and improving the effectiveness of gas transportation.
